I liked this movie; it’s humorous, it carries a moral, it’s tear-jerking for some, also it’s a Disney production; and I quite frankly fancy Disney films in general. I wouldn’t say that I love the movie though, as the premise of it is one I find to be very common. You can come across so many films alike, to name a couple; ‘It’s A Boy Girl Thing’, ‘Freaky Friday’, and the list goes on some more hundred miles.
It’s not to say that movies with this concept can’t be successful, it’s just to put out that this movie in particular, seems indistinguishable among the ton of films that share a similar concept. There’s nothing exceptional about ‘The Swap’; it was certainly good but not remarkable. Being a film aficionado who can go through multiple new films in one free day; my recalls of this movie aren’t strong. Again, there wasn’t really anything out of the ordinary in this movie. The plot points are easily foretold and the film is extremely light and digestible; but perhaps that’s just the beauty of Disney movies?
Moreover, I must remind that all opinions are subjective and just because this movie didn’t appeal to me much doesn’t mean it will not to you! You might love it or vice versa, and the only way to find out is to sit through it; and I totally encourage you to do so. If you have though, do tell me what you think. Do you share the same verdicts as I?
