√ Snowden (2016) Shailene Woodley Movie Review

This movie was great. And the fact that the plot is inspired by a true life event makes it even greater. Before this film, I’ve never heard of any man named Snowden. Thus I’m very glad I’d decided upon this film, as it had taught me of an incredible heroic man I’ve not heard of and all his sacrifices to make this world a tad better.

There are lots of moral messages contained in this movie that we ought to learn. The movie gives insight, clarity and justice to the controversial Snowden case. Snowden is a profound character who stood up for his values and what he thought was right. Only a gallant and gritty man like he would be brave enough to seize the chances that he did and man up in a time when nobody else would, even when it was extremely risky. His passion and drive to side by the truth is immense; he is for sure a character worthy to be noted. This movie has given Snowden the justice and renown that he deserves just by spreading his story. I loved it.

The only reason it is one star short of a five star-rating for me is because I’ve simply seen more exciting and moving films of the genre this year. Nevertheless, I can confidently say that this film is worthy of your attention. It’s incredibly informative and who knows? You may end up digging it more than I did. If you have, definitely tell me what you think of it!

[4/5 Stars!]

Snowden, the politically-charged, pulse-pounding thriller reveals the incredible untold personal story of Edward Snowden, the polarizing figure who exposed shocking illegal surveillance activities by the NSA and became one of the most wanted men in the world. He is considered a hero by some, and a traitor by others. No matter which you believe, the epic story of why he did it, who he left behind, and how he pulled it off makes for one of the most compelling films of the year.
